Plaza Don Gome 2

Seventeen beautiful courtyards welcome us to this truly extraordinary place, a stately Renaissance palace of unique beauty. Declared a “National Historical and Artistic Monument and Garden” in 1981, construction began in the 14th century. It currently covers an area of approximately 6,500 square metres over two floors, although it must be said that the garden and 12 courtyards occupy most of the compound. For this reason the Palacio de Viana is popularly known as the Museo de los Patios, (The Museum of the Courtyards). In and around the courtyards we can find a priceless collection of spectacularly large tapestries, antique furniture, oil paintings, pottery, weaponry, porcelain and even a library with more than 7,000 volumes. All in all an amazing experience when combined with a stroll through the beautiful gardens and courtyards, each of them different.
